When the ISRO Space Centre launches a rocket into space, the rocket's engines push gas downward with tremendous force. Simultaneously, that same gas pushes the rocket upward. This is Newton's Third Law in action โ one of the most important principles in all of physics.

Newton's Third Law: For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. When Object A exerts a force on Object B, Object B simultaneously exerts a force equal in magnitude but opposite in direction on Object A.

This means the forces are always equal in magnitude (size) and always opposite in direction. However, they act on different objects โ this is the most important point that students often miss.
